Obituary of Josephine Sarti
Josephine Sarti, 76, passed away peacefully March 15, 2022. She was born November 8th, 1945 in Mazzarrà Sant’Andrea (Provincia Messina). She married the love of her life, Louis E. Sarti, on June 29th,1968 who preceded her in death in 2003. They raised their family in Manalapan, NJ and then retired to Monroe Township, NJ. Most recently, she lived with her son and daughter-in-law in Summit, NJ.
She was the owner and operator of their family business Betty Brite Cleaners in Manalapan, Spotswood, and Old Bridge for many years.
Josephine loved her family and she was happiest when she had a house full of people. Anyone who visited Josephine’s house knew to come with an empty stomach. She was known for making you eat even if you weren’t hungry and made anyone who met her instantly feel like family.
Surviving are her four sons, Louis E. Jr. and Vicki of Englishtown, Anthony and Krista of Gillette, Michael and Anabela of Summit, and Robert and Matthew of Boonton; a sister Rose Caruana of Spotswood; six grandchildren, Louis and Samantha, Alex, Nicholas, Ryan, Rachel, and Kate; and her beloved dog, Buddy. She was a loving aunt to Rae Gagnon, Amanda Gagnon, Angela Green, and Gabriella Green. She was preceded in death by her siblings Tony and Nancy.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, March 18, 2022 and 8:15 AM to 9:15 AM on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. - 205 Rhode Hall Road, Monroe Township, NJ 08831. Funeral services will begin at 9:15 AM on Saturday from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be 10:00 AM at Nativity of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church located at 185 Applegarth Road, Monroe Township, NJ 08831 followed by entombment in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, South Brunswick.
