Obituary of Marion G White

Marion G White, 96, died on Friday February 25, 2022. She was born in Elberton, GA, and resided in Oceanside, NY, Baldwin, NY, and Danbury, CT, before making Aiken, SC her home for the past forty plus years. Marion taught elementary school for many years at Woods Road Elementary School in North Babylon, NY before her retirement. She enjoyed traveling, reading, knitting, and crossword puzzles. 

Marion is preceded in death by her first husband, James Green (1974) her second husband, Dexter White (2007), daughter, Dale Jones (2022) and two brothers: Edwin Metcalf and Walter Metcalf. 

Marion is survived by her son Edwin Green and his wife Rosemary of Monroe Township, NJ, daughter Valerie Green of Aiken, SC, four grandchildren: James Green and his girlfriend Tara, Anthony Green and his wife Marla, Edwin Green, Jr and his wife Amanda, Sarah Kiersh and her husband David, Jennifer Naimzadeh and her husband Bryan, and four great-grandchildren: Jane Green, Amelia Green, Jacob Kiersh, and Leah Kiersh.  Also surviving are many extended family members and friends, in particular Khalil Naimzadeh.     

Visitation will be from 3 – 6 pm on Sunday February 27, 2022, at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555.  A funeral service will be held at 5:30pm.  

Graveside services and interment will be held at 11am on Wednesday March 2, 2022, in Aiken Memorial Gardens, Aiken, SC.  

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Marion’s name to Riverbanks Zoo and Garden in Columbia, SC.
