Obituary of Thomas Michael Marchu

Thomas M. Marchu, 66, of Monroe Twp., passed away on Wednesday February 16, 2022 at his residence with his wife Nancy by his side.  Tom was born in Johnstown, PA and raised in Nanty Glo, PA.  In high school he played basketball, was captain of the football team and was named homecoming king. Growing up in Pennsylvania, Tom worked in the coal mines before attending Penn Tech where he earned his Associates Degree.  He came to New Jersey in the early 90’s and settled in Monroe Twp. in 2012.   He was employed for SHI International Corp. for 13 years, retiring as a Data Center Engineering Manager in December 2021.  Tom loved good food, good wine, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, even traveling to London to watch them play.  He was a car enthusiast who loved cruising in his 2007 C6 black Corvette convertible. Nothing gave him more joy than spending time with his two granddaughters. He loved taking them for walks, reading to them and playing guitar with them.  

Tom was preceded in death by his brother James Marchu and sister Carol Duman.

He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Marchu of Monroe Twp., his sister, Joyce Wolfe and her husband Jim, two brothers, Samuel R. Marchu and his wife Chris and Edward Marchu and his wife Sheryl, his step son, Jonathan Tischio and his wife Christine of Holmdel, his step daughter, Christine Acciani and her husband Michael of Philadelphia and two granddaughters: Riley and Chloe Tischio.  Also surviving are his extended family and friends. 

Visitation will be 1:00-4:30pm on Saturday February 19, 2022 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home Inc. - 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ  08831 followed by a catholic blessing.  Cremation is private.
