Obituary of Grace Anne Sce

Please share a memory of Grace to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Grace was born and grew up in Brooklyn, New York, and would move on to raise her own children there as well, before moving to the Rossmoor community within Monroe Township, New Jersey. While living in Brooklyn, she was employed by Metropolitan Life Insurance Company as an Executive Secretary for well over twenty years. Upon moving to Rossmoor, due to her love of dancing, Grace actively participated in and enjoyed line dancing, square dancing, and Jazzercise activities with friends and neighbors. She also has a passion for the Italian sport of “bocce”. During the 2005 bocce season where Grace was the captain of her team, she led them to a first place finish with each player winning an impressive trophy for their achievement.

Outside of local clubs, at home, Grace has a passion for baking and cooking; always on the lookout to share and give to others. Year round, you were likely to get your own decorated coffee tin filled with her homemade “S” cookies and vanilla and chocolate pinwheel cookies.  Grace is quick to volunteer to bake customized birthday cakes for her family, and for other occasions and holidays, was known for her delicious sponge cakes. Pizza is perhaps the food Grace is most widely known for, and bakes often for friends and family. Truly though, Grace’s years of self-taught refinement in the culinary arts allowed her to master any dish she laid her eyes on. She was the keeper of all the Italian family recipes that had been passed down, along with adding to the repertoire herself, ensuring that all occasions were filled with food and love.

While dedicating much of her time to baking, Grace was a fierce competitor in the Italian card games “Briscola” and “Marianna”. If you were lucky enough to be her teammate for one of these, victory was all but assured! While she may be a ruthless opponent, her family and passing on values, stories, and words of wisdom is one aspect of Grace that brilliantly shines through all facets of her personality and life. Autumn is Grace’s favorite time of the year, during which she will be enjoying walks outdoors in the brisk but refreshing air, wearing her coat and kerchief.

Preceding Grace in death is her husband, Albert F. Sce, along with her brothers Joseph Cincotta, Anthony Cincotta, and Bart Cincotta. Surviving Grace in death is her daughter Marie Falcone, and her husband, Daniel Falcone, and their children Nick, Alex, and Chris; her daughter Patricia Sce, and her husband, Charles Badaracco, and their children Grace and Linda; her daughter Christine Sce, and her husband, Peter M. Shkrutz, and their children Peter A. and Katya.
