Obituary of Grace T. McLaughlin

Grace T. McLaughlin passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at her home in Encore, Monroe Twp.  She was 92 years old.  Mrs. McLaughlin was born and raised in South Ozone Park (Queens) before moving to Richmond Hill and then later to Mineola, NY where she lived for 45 years. While living there, Grace was an active member of St. Aidan’s Parish in Williston Park, NY.  She has resided in Encore, Monroe Twp. since 2003. Upon residing in Monroe Twp., she became a member of the Nativity of Our Lord RC Church and belonged to their Rosary Altar Society, lovingly ironed the altar cloths, and also served as a Eucharistic Minister. Dedicated to Our Lady, Grace prayed the Miraculous Medal Novena every day since her teens. Grace was happiest when taking care of her family. Her dedication and devotion was extended to her parents, James and Grace Bellew, her big brothers Richard and James as well as her beloved sister Agnes. She was a dedicated wife to her husband Robert as well as a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Grace loved to cook for her family and friends even going as far as volunteering for meals on wheels. She lived her Roman Catholic faith everyday treating all her friends like family and was famous for her Irish soda bread, making and delivering many of them every year always around St. Patrick’s Day.

Grace was pre-deceased by her husband Bob in 2021 having spent 65 happy years together. Theirs was a love story filled with faith, family, friends, and love. During the last 10 months, Grace missed him terribly and looked forward to them being together again in the palm of God’s hand.

Grace is survived by two children, Eileen Mancuso and her husband Joseph of North Brunswick Twp., and Robert J. McLaughlin and his wife Patricia of Guilderland, NY, seven grandchildren, Joseph Mancuso and his wife Nina, Matthew Mancuso, Timothy Mancuso and his wife Julie, Robert L. McLaughlin and his wife Ali, Maggie McLaughlin, James McLaughlin, and Patrick McLaughlin, five great grandchildren, Serena, Giovanni, Briella, Deanna, and Murphy Grace as well as many other extended family members.

Visitation will be from 5-9 pm on Monday January 31, 2022 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555.  A funeral liturgy will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday February 1, 2022 at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, 185 Applegarth Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 followed by Entombment in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, South Brunswick Twp.
