Obituary of Kate Fay Maiolo

Kate Fay Maiolo, 54, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at her residence in Monroe Twp. with her family by her side.  Kate was born on St. Patrick's Day in Jersey City and raised in Matawan.  In her youth, Kate was a member of the Princeton Ballet.  Kate was a graduate of St. John Vianney High School and Kutztown University where she received her Bachelors Degree.  She lived in Sayreville before settling in Monroe Twp. in 2000.  She was employed at Random House Publishing in New York City for 8 years.  Sharing her love of dance with young children, she became a dance instructor at Janet's Dance Center in Old Bridge for 15 years.  She was also employed at JCPenney and as a substitute teacher in the Monroe Twp. School District for many years and finally as a Patient Processor at CHOP in Plainsboro until her retirement in 2020.  Kate was very active in her community, as a CCD instructor at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church where she was also a parishioner and as Vice President of the Monroe Twp. PTO.  Above all, Kate's greatest passion was being a mother to her two treasured sons.   

Kate was preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Ellen Fay, her nephew, Justin Fay and her parents in law, Bruno and Joan Maiolo.

She is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Michael Maiolo, her sons: Matthew and his fiancee Rachel Gentile and Kevin, and her beloved Shaggy, all of Monroe Twp., four brothers: Stephen Fay of Santa Barbara, CA, James Fay of Chico, CA, Edward Fay and his wife Ana of Howell and Timothy Fay and his wife Lisa of Scottsdale, AZ.  Also surviving are sisters and brothers in law, nieces and nephews and many friends.     

A funeral liturgy will be 10:00 am on Wednesday January 26, 2022 at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church - 185 Applegarth Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ  08831.  Immediately following the mass, there will be a celebration of Kate's life that all are welcome to attend.  Funeral arrangements are being held under the direction of the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. - 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ  08831.
