Obituary of Richard A. Bleach
Richard A. Bleach passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center in Plainsboro. He was 91 years old. Mr. Bleach was born and raised in Bayonne. He later lived in Old Bridge for 29 years before moving to Rossmoor, Monroe Twp. in 2008. He proudly served his country in the US Army. He was a marketing manager for General Cable for over 21 years then worked as a housing manager for the State of NJ Housing Authority for over 13 years. He retired in 1992. He was an avid reader, loved ice skating and enjoyed movies, going on walks, and visiting his favorite tavern. He was a member of the Holy Name Society and also volunteered his time at St. John’s Soup Kitchen in Newark for many years.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mary (Sweeney) Bleach in 1993, and nine siblings, Mary, Helen, Jack, Martin, James, Margaret, Michael, Joseph, and Patrick.
He is survived by his four children, Kevin Bleach and his wife Kelly of New Providence, Timothy Bleach and his wife Karen of Wauwatosa, WI, Maura Zucker and her husband Gerald of Bayville, and Ellen Sterbenz and her husband James of Medford, 11 grandchildren, Aileen (Rick), Matthew (Amanda), Michael (Meagan), Sydney (Jon), Katelyn (Adam), Neal (Christie), Emma, Jonathon, Mary, Jack, and Christopher, four great grandchildren, Meera, Cody, Graeme, and McKenna, his dear friend, Bill Rowland, and many other extended family members.
Visitation will be from 9:30am to 10:30am on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. Funeral services will begin at 10:30am from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be 11:00am at St. James the Less RC Church, 36 Lincoln Ave. Jamesburg, NJ 08831. Interment will follow in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
