Please share a memory of Joe to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Joseph Arrigo was born in Brooklyn, NY on November 21, 1931, and just celebrated his 90th birthday. He was the son of Pasquale Arrigo and Angelina (Cama) Arrigo. He attended City College and graduated from NYU with a degree in accounting.  He was the vice president and treasurer of UIS until he retired in 2015 and enjoyed the retirement life with his wife, Arlene (Kaplan) Arrigo at their community in Greenbriar at Whittingham.  They just recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. Theirs was a storybook romance beginning in the 1950’s. Together they created a beautiful, devoted family which was his pride and joy.  Joe loved music, was an excellent dancer, and a jack of all trades. He was known by all as the nicest man. He was the mighty oak of our family admired and respected by all who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Arlene Arrigo, three daughters, Laurie Schaen and her husband Barry, Janet Wadler and her husband Larry, and Karyn Moran and her husband John. He is also survived by his 7 grandchildren, Tiffany Polyak and her husband Slava, Scott Schaen and his wife Sharon, Kelly Ahl and her husband Adam, Nicole Remsen and her husband Joey, Dylan Wadler and his wife Sharon, and Sean and Jason Moran.  He was also blessed with 5 great-grandsons: Axel and Arlo Ahl, Zeke and Laz Schaen, and Caleb Remsen.

Funeral services are private and have been entrusted to the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc.
