Obituary of Linda Lucy Giordano

Please share a memory of Linda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Our mother, Linda Giordano, 96, went to her eternal rest on Sunday November 21, 2021 at The Gardens @ Monroe in Monroe Township, New Jersey.  Linda was born on February 8, 1925 in Brooklyn, N.Y.   She met her husband, Joseph Giordano, through friends in the neighborhood, and they were married in 1947.  They lived in Brooklyn until 1954 when Joe's job took them to New Jersey.

They moved to Iselin, NJ where they resided for 31 years and raised 7 children.  Linda was adored by family and friends.  Her warm and outgoing manner made her the perfect hostess for entertaining.  Cooking and company were her favorite pastimes. She achieved her excellent culinary skills from her Italian heritage.  Linda was an active member of the Rosary Society at St. Cecelia's Roman Catholic Church in Iselin.  She volunteered each year at the church's annual July Fair helping to make pizzas.  She was an avid knitter and taught knitting classes for years.  Linda loved the Jersey Shore where she and her family vacationed many summers.  She also enjoyed playing scrabble and cards.

In 1985 Linda and Joe moved to a retirement community in Whiting, NJ.  They shared their life in Whiting until Joseph's death in January of 1997. They were parishioners of  St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Roman Catholic Church in Whiting.  Linda continued to reside in Whiting until  2011 when she moved to Highland Park, New Jersey to live with her daughter, Carol.  In 2015 she began her 6 year residence in two nursing homes,  the latter being the Gardens at Monroe.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Giordano (1997) and her son in law, Russell Simons (2016) two sisters, Marie Gama and Anna Libretti and three brothers, Ricky Massi, Vincent Massi and William (Junior) Massi.
