Obituary of Sophie Jasko

Sophie Jasko, 95, passed away on November 11, 2021, in Plainsboro New Jersey.

Sophie was born in Englishtown, New Jersey to Martin and Bertha Glenn. She was raised in Englishtown and remained there until marrying her late husband, Peter Jasko Jr. Together they settled in Monroe Township and raised their three children.

Sophie was a Homemaker, but also worked as a bus driver for the Monroe Township School District. She also worked a Custodian and received her certification as a boiler operator in her sixties.

Sophie was a blue ribbon crochet artist, she liked to attend tricky trays, play bingo, and take trips to Atlantic City. She also enjoyed canning and making jellies and jams both of which she received awards for as well. She loved her sweets and was a frequent partaker of confections. She was a parishioner of St James the Less Church in Jamesburg as well as long standing member of the St. James Columbiettes. Sophie loved her family most of all and was always overjoyed to have family gatherings for birthdays and holidays. Sophie always had kind words and a sweet way about her. Her beautiful soft blue eyes showed her kindness.

Sophie is predeceased by her parents, Martin, and Bertha Glenn, as well as her husband, Peter Jasko Jr., her daughter, Susan Reilly, and son in law, Bruce Loudin, her brothers, Edward Glenn, Joseph Glenn, Benjamin Glenn, and Jack Glenn. She is also predeceased by her sisters, Anna Strong, Helen Peterson, and Jenny Glenn.

Sophie will be sadly missed by her son, Peter Jasko III of South Ampton, Her daughter, Mary Jasko-Loudin of Monroe Township, a son in law, Richard Reilly and her grandchildren, David Jasko, Timothy & Shari Jasko, Brian Jasko, Michael & Shannon Loudin, Kristin & Gonzalo Purizia, and Kaitlyn Loudin,Christine Golden. Her great grandchildren, Nicholas, Lana, Kayla (Sophie), Fred, Tori, Sean, Zayne, Gage, Christian, & Gabriel. She has also left behind many cherished nieces and nephews. Sophie will also be missed by her former daughters in law, Dolores Jasko, and Paula Jasko.

 

 A visitation will be held at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, 205 Rhode Hall Road, Monroe Township, N.J. 08831, (732) 521-0555, beginning at 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, November 15, 2021.

A second visitation will begin at the funeral home at 10:00 am on November 16, 2021, followed by a Catholic Blessing at 11:00 am. Burial will occur at 12:30 pm at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, located at 299 Freehold – Englishtown Road, Freehold, NJ 07728.
