Obituary of Steven Vella

With deepest sorrow, we announce that Steven Vella, age 53 proud father, beloved son, brother, family member and loyal friend passed suddenly on Saturday, October 9, 2021.

Steven is pre-deceased by his father, Franklin Vella Sr. He is survived by his two cherished daughters, Olivia, and Emily. He also leaves behind his loving mother, Dolores Vella as well as his brother, Franklin Vella Jr. and his wife Jennifer and his sister, Susan Martinelli and her husband Anthony. He will also be sadly missed by his niece and nephews, Christina, Sam and Joseph.

Born in Staten Island, Steven was raised and spent a great deal of his life there. He attended Wagner High school and then went on to graduate from Iona College. Steven started his teaching career at Wagner High School before taking his current job at Manalapan High School. He also was a football coach for the Wagner Falcons and Manalapan Braves.

Steven was an avid golfer, sports enthusiast and cherished his time with family and friends who he loved dearly.

Steven always lit up the room and had a knack for making people smile. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc., 205 Rhode Hall Road, Monroe Twp., NJ  08831 on Thursday, October 14, 2021 from 2:00 pm – 4:00pm and then again from 6:00pm – 9:00pm. A second visitation will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021 from 9:00 am -10:00am.

A funeral Liturgy will be held at Nativity of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church, 185 Applegarth Road, Monroe Township, NJ 08831, beginning at 10:30am.

A private cremation will follow under the care of the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc.
