Obituary of Theresa Iorio

Mass: 12:30pm at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, Monroe Twp.

Entombment to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.

Mrs. Theresa Iorio, 101, passed away peacefully at the Gardens at Monroe on August 17^th, 2021.

Theresa was born in Jersey City to Carlo and Constantina Scozzafava. She was raised in Jersey City and remained there after marrying her husband, Dominick Iorio. Theresa eventually settled in Monroe Township and remained here until her passing.

Theresa was a home maker who raised her family with joy. She loved to Crochet, assemble puzzles, and read. She was also an active parishioner of Nativity of Our Lord Church.

Theresa is pre-deceased by her dear parents, Carlo and Constantina Scozzafava, as well as her loving husband Dominick. She was also pre-deceased by her siblings: Fred Scozzafava, Joseph Scozzafava, Frank Scozzafava, and one sister, Rose Ficcara.

Theresa is survived by her two children: Maria Capparelli and her husband Anthony of Monroe Township, and her son, Louis Iorio, and his wife Ellen of Brielle. Theresa is also survived by her grandchildren; Christine Benedict, Toni Ann Capparelli, John Iorio, and Mary Grace Iorio. She is also survived by four great grandchildren: Katherine, Dominick Anthony, Avery, and Saylor Grace.

Visitation will be held at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, located at 205 Rhode Hall Road, Monroe Township, N.J. on August 23, 2021, between the hours of 9:00 am and 11:45 am.

A funeral liturgy will be held on August 23, 2021 beginning at 12:30 pm at Nativity of Our Lord, Catholic Church, 185 Applegarth Road, Monroe Township.

Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington, N.J. 07031.
