Obituary of Alex Knights

Alexander F. Knights, 90, passed away on Monday, June, 28 2021 in Monroe Township, New Jersey. He will be greatly missed by all those who loved him. Alex was born in Bronx, NY and raised in Teaneck, NJ. He attended St. Anastasia Grammar School and then Regis High School in New York City. He then attended Stevens Institute of Technology graduating with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. Alex then served our country honorably in the United States Army from 1954-1956 until he was discharged. He then returned to Stevens Institute and received his master’s degree in mechanical engineering. 

 

In 1965, Alex married his wife of 55 years, Patricia (Codner) Knights.  Together they raised two children, Peter and Anne, in Cresskill, NJ & then Medfield, MA.  During his career, Alex worked for the National Bureau of Standards, as well as the N.S.A., M.W. Kellogg, J.C. Mahoney, C.F. Braun, Badger Engineers and finally Raytheon in Cambridge MA until retiring in 1995.

 

Alex loved to read & listen to opera.  Alex is pre-deceased by his parents, Alexander and Eveleen (O’Hanlon) Knights, as well as his dear son, Peter Knights.   Alex is survived by his wife, Patricia (Codner) Knights, his daughter Anne E. Knights-Borel, as well as his grandchildren, Ryan Borel and Emily Borel.

 

A funeral liturgy will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, located at 526 North Street, Jim Thorpe, PA on July 7, 2021, at 11:00am. Burial Services will be immediately following at St. Joseph’s Cemetery located on Fifth Street in Jim Thorpe, PA.

 

The family of Alex would like those friends and family who would like to donate to their favorite charity in lieu of flowers do so in Alex's name.
