Obituary of Kenneth M. Koleto

Kenneth Koleto passed away peacefully at his home in Greenbriar @ Whittingham, Monroe Twp. on Friday, May 21, 2021 at the age of 75.  Mr. Koleto was born and raised in Joliet, Ill.  He attended Holy Cross Elementary School, graduated from Joliet Catholic High School and received his Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and Physics from Northern Illinois University.  He began his computer career with a small company in Chicago Heights.  Kenneth started working in Computer Programming at Personal Products, and remained with Johnson & Johnson for the majority of his career.  He retired in 2007. 

Ken met his wife, Lois, while in college.  They married in 1968 and began their family in New Lenox, Ill.  He later lived in North Brunswick Twp. for more than 25 years following a several year assignment in Tampa, Fl. He spent his retirement between Bayville, NJ and Bradenton, Fl.  Most recently, Ken and his wife resided in Greenbriar @ Whittingham, Monroe Twp. 

Ken had a number of interests and hobbies. He was a licensed amateur radio operator (K9ZBV) and enjoyed making contacts around the world. Ken was very fond of astronomy and spent many nights sharing his knowledge with his children.  In earlier years, he enjoyed golfing with his brothers-in-law and friends.  Ken was talented and had a knack for finding ways to remodel a room to use it more efficiently with added beauty.  Ken was also a great chef and loved to cook gourmet meals for his friends and family. Most impressive was his artistic ability. He loved to paint watercolor pictures and produced artwork for loved ones.

He was predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Irene (Olszta) Koleto.  He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lois (Spreitzer) Koleto, three children, Michael Koleto of Hillsborough, Gregory Koleto of Basking Ridge, and Christina Koleto of Parsippany, his sister, Kathleen Koleto-Laken of Bloomingdale, Ill, two grandchildren, Kathryn Koleto, and Emily Koleto, and numerous extended family members.

Visitation will be from 6-9pm on Thursday, May 27, 2021 and from 8:45am to 9:15am on Friday, May 28, 2021 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555.  Funeral services will begin at 9:15am on Friday from the funeral home.  A funeral Liturgy will be 10:00am at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, 185 Applegarth Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 followed by a private cremation.
