Obituary of Michael S. Maino
Michael S. Maino, 90, of Monroe Twp. passed away on Monday May 10, 2021 at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick. Michael was born and raised in Hoboken, moved to Jersey City where he raised his family, eventually settling in Monroe Twp. 21 years ago. He proudly served his country in the US Army 3rd Infantry, Combat Division during the Korean Conflict. He was co-owner with his surviving brother, Angelo in the family business, Maino Produce, a restaurant supply company. Michael was a very generous man, donating much food and resources to shelters in Hoboken and neighboring communities, he was very interested in projects, building and gardening and he loved to cook. Michael was a devout catholic and an active parishioner of Immaculate Conception RC Church in Spotswood. Family was most important to him and was his life.
Michael was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy May Maino (2020) who he adored and cared for deeply, two sisters, Mary DiLena (2006) and Frances Maino (2019).
He is survived by his four children: Mary Ann Socienski and her husband Alan of Lyndhurst, Dorothy Domke of Monroe Twp., Michael Maino and his wife Cheryl of Point Pleasant Beach and Kenneth Maino and his wife Jacqueline of Monroe Twp., four grandchildren: William and Samantha Domke, Victoria Maino and her fiancé Liam McDermott and Courtney Maino, and his brother, Angelo Maino of Jersey City. Also surviving are many extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be 4-8 pm on Thursday May 13, 2021 and 8:30-9:30am on Friday May 14, 2021 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. – 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831. Funeral services will begin at 9:30 am on Friday from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be 10:30 am at Immaculate Conception RC Church – 23 Manalapan Rd., Spotswood, NJ 08884 followed by entombment in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, South Brunswick.
