Obituary of Robert J. Weekes

Robert J. Weekes, 82, of Monroe Twp. passed away on Tuesday May 11, 2021 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.  Bob was born in the Bronx and moved to Winfield Park at the age of 5.  He later lived in Linden before moving to Monroe Twp. in 2010.  He proudly served his country in the US Army.  He was employed for 44 years by New Jersey Bell, Bell Laboratories and retired as a computer engineer from Lucent Technologies in 2001.  He enjoyed watching horse racing, skiing in the winter and spending summers at the shore.  

Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Weekes.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Gloria Weekes of Monroe Twp., his daughter Colleen Iannucci and her husband Christopher of Monroe Twp., his granddaughter Alessandra Iannucci, his brother, Chester Weekes of Florida, two sisters: Barbara Avallone of Winfield Park and Karen Woessner and her husband Walt of Scotch Plains.  

Visitation will be 5-8 pm on Friday May 14, 2021 and 8:30-9:30 am on Saturday May 15, 2021 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. - 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ  08831.  Funeral services will begin at 9:30 am on Saturday from the funeral home.  A funeral liturgy will be 10 am on Saturday at St. James the Less RC Church - 36 Lincoln Ave., Jamesburg, NJ  08831 followed by interment in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
