Obituary of Robert Bain Cairns
Robert Bain Cairns passed away peacefully on May 10th, 2021 at his residence in Monroe Twp. surrounded by his family.
Robert (Bob) was born in Govan, Scotland to Thomas and Hannah Cairns. He was raised in Scotland and served his country during World War II in the British Army. After the war Bob went to work on the Queen Mary Ship and Queen of Bermuda. Bob emigrated to America in 1955 that’s when Bob’s dear friend George Leech set him up on a blind date and this is how he met and married his loving wife, Lizette (McCluskey) in 1957. Together they had three children, Robert, Richard, and Michele.
Bob worked many years as a Lithographer for Color Masters until retiring in 1988. He then took on the roll as a Maitre d' at the Ramsey Golf & Country Club remaining there for many years until retiring again at the age of 80.
Bob loved soccer, golf, traveling, ball room dancing with his wife, and being a dad. Bob dedicated his life to his family and then to his grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Lizette Cairns, his dear children, Robert Cairns of Warwick, NY, Richard Cairns of NJ, and his daughter, Michele and her husband Peter of Marlboro.
He also leaves behind his dearest grandchildren, Matthew & Emily Rotella, Stephanie & Jordan Cairns, Mackenzie Cairns, Jake Dente, Maggie Cairns, Delena Cairns, & Frankie Dente as well as the future great-grandchild, Baby Rotella.
Bob was known to many as Scotty and as a family man. A man who has left a footprint on the souls of his family for an eternity.
The family has asked for no flowers to be sent for the services.

Visitation will be held on Saturday May 22, 2021 between 1:00PM - 2:30PM immediately followed by a prayer service at 2:30PM at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. located at 205 Rhode Hall Road, Monroe Twp. NJ 08831, (732) 521-0555.
Disposition will be private under the direction of the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc.
