Obituary of Lawrence Daniel Meloro, Sr.
Lawrence D. Meloro, Sr. passed away peacefully at the age of 85 on March 18, 2021 surrounded by family in Georgia.
Lawrence was born on December 27, 1935 in Brooklyn. Lawrence moved to New Jersey in 1997 where he was a resident for 23 years before moving to Georgia in 2020. He was a veteran of the US Army during the Vietnam Era. He then moved on to work for the New York City Sanitation department for 26 years before retiring as a supervisor. Many family and friends know the love he had for the Sanitation department from the endless stories he often spoke about. Lawrence was a part of many organizations throughout his life, He had a love for the American Legion where he was a Commander in Chief.
Lawrence was predeceased by his son, Salvatore, his granddaughter Daniella (Anthony), and great granddaughter Giuliana.
Lawrence is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Josephine, his son, Lawrence Jr.(Lisa), grandchildren, Robert (Francesca), Lawrence III, and Giana (Drew) and great grandchildren, Annabelle, DJ, and Hunter. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 8-10am on Saturday April 10, 2021 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. - 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831. A catholic blessing will be 10am at the conclusion of the visiting hours followed by entombment in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum - South Brunswick.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lawrence’s granddaughter, Daniella and great granddaughter, Giuliana’s foundation.
