Obituary of Louis Perlman
Our dad, our hero, our lifeline passed in the early morning hours on March 7, 2021. He left behind a wife, Phyllis Perlman of Monroe, NJ, a daughter, Tracy Perlman who lives with her significant other Jeff Brown in NYC, a daughter, Michelle Perlman-Cotoia, who lives with her husband Anthony Cotoia and his grandchildren Adrianna and Anthony Cotoia in Monroe, NJ. Our dad died as the head of our family, the rock, the most loyal and loving person you could ever meet. He was born in the Bronx, grew up in Brooklyn and moved to Queens to raise his family, finally settling into his last home in Monroe Township, NJ. He was a protector, a guardian, always moving, always working. It all started with the Marines where he learned to always be on time and that hard work will get you where you want to go. He loved the 21 years he spent as a NYC City Sanitation worker, the 30 years as a glazier and the 13 years spent as school bus driver. He never missed anything that involved his daughters, every recital, softball game, cheerleading practice, dance class, play, Super Bowl, he was there. In his retirement he was Mr Fix It, he played pinochle, he swam every day, he went to car shows, he watched Electric Company with his grandchildren. He loved holidays when everyone could be together. He took in all the strays, friends, family, and every animal that came to the door. He had more integrity, grit, strength, love, life and personality then any person I have ever met. He was the greatest storyteller, the life of the party, someone who left an impact on everyone. Our dad, our love, our life. Rest Easy and wait for us.
