Please share a memory of Mindanita to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Mindanita Talanay Sideco passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at the home of her daughter in Asbury Park, NJ, surrounded by her immediate family. She was 72 years young. Minda was born and raised in Teresa, Rizal in the Philippines. She immigrated to the United States in 1975 to reside in Queens, NY. She later moved to Jersey City before settling in Monroe Township, NJ in 1989 which became her final residence. She had a 35-year career as an accountant and retired in 2012 from the New York City Department of Finance. Minda was a devout Catholic and a long-time parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Spotswood, NJ. She was also a member of the Eastern Rizal Association, a Filipino cultural organization.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Lambert Sideco of Monroe Township, two children, Marian Kingston and her husband Sean of Hoboken, NJ, Joseph John Sideco and his wife Tritia Marie of Los Angeles, CA, two grandsons, Benjamin Xavier Kingston and Logan Joseph Sideco, five siblings, Alfredo Talanay, Ellen Ochoa and her husband Paulino, Gil Talanay and his wife Regina, Ernesto Talanay and his wife Lyn, and Lucy Santiago and her husband Cidrick, as well as a very large extended family.

Minda was the most loving and dedicated mother to her children. Her grandsons were her greatest gifts and her pride and joy. All that she ever longed for was to become a grandmother. God was able to grant her that wish and she was able to spend the last couple of years of her life devoting it to them.

Anyone lucky to have known Minda knew that she was incredibly kind-hearted, compassionate and was the most selfless human being. She always put others' needs above her own. She truly cared about her friends and family and found tremendous happiness in their successes. Minda treated everyone she encountered with the utmost respect and tenderness. Minda’s family and friends will miss her more than words can say. Her passing leaves a void that can never be filled.
