Obituary of Helen Hawke
Helen (Mester) Hawke passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at Clover Rest Home in Columbia, NJ. She was 94 years old. Helen was born and raised in the Tottenville section of Staten Island, NY. She later moved to Metuchen, NJ, with her husband, to raise their family. In 1995, she and her husband moved to Rossmoor, Monroe Twp. NJ. She loved her family. Over the years she worked at several different companies as an office clerk through temporary assignments. Later she supported the clerical aspect of her husband's consulting business. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and tennis, which she played until her early eighties. At Rossmoor she participated in several clubs, including Bocce, the Sewing Guild and Grandma's Attic. She regularly attended and supported the Rossmoor Community Church.
She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, David L. Hawke in 2011, and three brothers.
She is survived by two children, David G. Hawke of Washington, and Patricia H. Schwarz of Phillipsburg, two grandsons, Ryan A. Hawke, and Dane F. Schwarz, one great-granddaughter, Fallyn P., her former daughter-in-law Lynn D. Hawke, and many other extended family members and friends.
Private funeral arrangements, including Cremation, are under the direction of the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc.
