Obituary of Terry Calciano

Please share a memory of Terry to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Terry (Giunti) Calciano passed away on Friday December 25, 2020 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.  She was 68 years old.  Terry was born and raised in the Bronx, so was a Yankee fan from birth.  She moved to Staten Island with her family, got married and started a family of her own welcoming a daughter.  She resided in Staten Island for many years before moving to Sayreville in 1985, where her family grew, having a son. She has lived in Monroe Twp. since 2012. She worked for over 20 years in the retail business and most recently was employed by Lowes and Wawa.

Terry loved to cook and she was great at it, and even provided her recipes in a cookbook and fielded multiple ‘how to’ calls and of course cooked for way too many people.  She could bake too, making school raffle worthy cakes.  She often vacationed in Myrtle Beach (Thank you Frank and Ginny) and fulfilled her lifelong dream of traveling to Italy (Thank you Joy and Tony). Country music became her listening pleasure, going to concerts, and following her favorite couple, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani. She enjoyed watching Hallmark movies, Soap Operas (recording her stories every day) and reality TV (courtesy of her mom). She gave the most beautiful, sentimental holiday/birthday cards and was the best gift giver, always listening and knowing exactly what you wanted or needed.  Although divorced, Terry and Jimmy were often together enjoying being with their children/grandchildren continuing to create family memories.

Terry was a nurturing, caring, selfless mother, who would be there in a minute if needed.  She absolutely loved being a grandmother and was devoted and dedicated to her entire family.  She was strong yet gentle, tired yet enduring, hurt yet humble. Her kindness touched so many lives, many more than she would ever know.

She was pre-deceased by her parents, Angelo and Frances Giunti, and her brother, Ralph Giunti, and her niece, Paula.

She is survived by her former husband, James Calciano of Whiting, two children, Jennifer Marek and her husband Robert of Monroe Twp. and Peter Calciano and his wife Lynda of Old Bridge, her older brother Frank Giunti and his wife Virginia of Mahopac, NY, three sisters-in-law, Joy, Francine, and Debbie, two grandchildren, Nick, and Leila, and many other extended family members. Terry was a hard worker, caring, generous and will truly be missed by all. Heaven has gained an amazing new angel.

Visitation will be from 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 and from 10:00am to 10:45am on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. 205 Rhode Hall Rd.
