Obituary of Caroline Amato
Caroline (Apolito) Amato, 89, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 in Monroe Township, NJ. Caroline was born and raised in the Marion Section of Jersey City, NJ, where she lived for most of her life. Caroline worked for over 47 years as a Bookkeeper for Mechanics Finance Company, retiring in 1995. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Jersey City. Caroline loved the theatre, traveling and was always up for an adventure. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She was very upbeat and a joy to be around, while lighting up any gathering with her beautiful smile.
Caroline is preceded in death by her loving husband, Philip Amato (1968) and her brother, Lawrence Apolito (2013).
Caroline is survived by her sister, Teresa Pope of Jersey City, her sister-in-law, Loretta Apolito of North Caldwell, her nephews, Lawrence Apolito and Christopher Apolito both of North Caldwell and her dear nieces, Tracey Siryj and husband, Orest of Monroe Township, and Lauren Bonura and husband, Frank of Basking Ridge. She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews, Gabriella, Michael and Tyler Siryj, Alexandra and Brandon Bonura, and Alexis, Adriana and Nicholas Apolito.
Visitation will be 9:00am to 10:30am on Monday, December 21, 2020 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. - 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 - 732-521-0555. A Catholic Blessing will be offered at 10:30am followed by interment in Holy Name Cemetery, 823 West Side Ave, Jersey City, NJ 07306.
