Obituary of John W. Kelley
John Wilson Kelley, 77, died on Monday November 9, 2020 at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center. John was born in Birmingham, Alabama on January 21, 1943. John earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in early childhood education from Monmouth University. He studied computers in education at the University of Vermont and Rutgers University. John resided in Metuchen, NJ for over 60 years and was a member of the Reformed Church of Metuchen. He moved to Monroe Township ten years ago.
John was an avid ham radio operator and a member of ARRL group (the national association for amateur radio). He was also featured in the New York Times for his innovative work as the founder and owner of the MicroFone InfoService bulletin board system and a dedicated teacher for 30 years. He loved traveling, boating, fishing, photography, the NY Yankees, and his two Siamese cats.
John is survived by his loving wife of thirty four years, Susan Kelley, his five daughters and their spouses, April (Jon), Kerri (Chris) Stacey (Carl) Michele (Rob) and Kristin (Derek) and his thirteen grandchildren Wilson, Grace, Thomas, Kayla, Ashley, Colin, Judy, Alex, Alexa, Garrett, Luke, Dylan, and Ryan.
Visitation will be 11-12pm on Thursday November 12, 2020 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. - 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831. Funeral services will be celebrated at 12pm at the conclusion of the visitation.
