Obituary of Ellen E. Coffey

Ellen E. Coffey, 99, died on Saturday November 7, 2020, in Monroe Township, NJ, with her loving family by her side.  Ellen, fondly known to her family and friends as Nel, was born in Garston, England, she immigrated to the United States in 1949, where she made Bergenfield, NJ her home.

Ellen was a proud homemaker, who was known for being an amazing baker and avid gardener.  She enjoyed sewing and knitting and never turned down the chance to sing and dance when the opportunity arose. She also looked back fondly on her time spent while volunteering for the Brownies and the Girl Scouts of America organizations.  Ellen was a cherished member of her family and friend to many in her neighborhood.

Ellen is preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph Coffey (1994).

Ellen is survived by her daughter, Patricia Graves and her husband Stanley of Monroe Township, NJ, her granddaughter, Pamela Clayton and her husband Gary of Monroe Township, NJ, her two great grandchildren, Victoria, and Russell Clayton of Monroe Township, NJ, and nieces and nephews in England and Canada.

Visitation will be 9–10am on Tuesday November 10, 2020 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. - 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ  08831.  A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at St. John Evangelist RC Church – 29 N. Washington Ave – Bergenfield, NJ 07621 - at 11:30am following the visitation. Interment will take place in George Washington Memorial Park – Paramus, NJ.
