Leatrice F. Tembrevilla passed away with her family by her side on Monday, October 26, 2020, at her daughter's home in Monroe Twp.  Leatrice was born and raised in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, Philippines.  She came to the US in 1968 and first settled in Elizabeth, NJ.  With her family, she later moved to Linden and then settled in Englishtown for the next 36 years.  She also spent some time at her second residence in Palm Coast, FL for the past 18 years.  She graduated from the University of the Philippines with a degree in Pharmacy and was employed by Schering-Plough in Union, NJ until her retirement in 2003.  She was an active member of two Filipino cultural groups in New Jersey: the Kapisanang Filipino ng NJ and the University of the Philippines Alumni Association of New Jersey.

She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Tembrevilla in 1991.

She is survived by her two children, M. Liza Schott and her husband Ronald of Monroe Twp., and Robert Tembrevilla and his wife Nicole of San Ramon, CA, five grandchildren, Andrew, Taylor, Jaedon, Michael, and Kaeli. Leatrice is the oldest of 10 and is survived by her 5 brothers and 4 sisters, Lilia F. Lacanilao, Leandro F. Fermin Jr. and his wife Jacinta C., Hernani F. Fermin and his wife Jocelyn S., Carmelo F. Fermin and his wife Jacqueline K., Eleanor F. Madolora and her husband Gremy, Victor F. Fermin and his wife Cynthia C., Trinidad F. Quindoy and her husband Nicanor, Filamer F. Fermin and his wife Marilou V., and Rosemarie F. de Castro and her husband Roland. Letty, as she was known, was affectionately called “Mom-Mom” by her grandchildren, “Mommy Letty” by her 26 nieces and nephews and “Manang” by her 9 siblings.

Letty loved watching sports with her late husband Frank, especially football and basketball.  They loved to get together with their friends, whether playing mahjong or seeing them at their weekly bowling league.  At their Englishtown home, they enjoyed hosting pool parties and get-togethers, even spur of the moment guests.  She loved to spend hours gossiping with her sisters and lovingly complain about her brothers.  Most of all she loved to treat her families out to dinner and shopping at her favorite stores like Wegmans and Costco.  Recently, it filled her with joy to treat her children and their families to a family vacation to Maui, Hawaii. Her family and friends will forever remember her generous heart, strong mind, perpetual faith and unwavering optimism.
