Obituary of Michael W. Marano

Michael W. Marano, 85, of Monroe Twp. passed away on Wednesday September 23, 2020 at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center in Plainsboro.  Michael was born in the Bronx and raised in Brooklyn for most of his life before settling in Clearbrook, Monroe Twp. in 2005.  He was employed as a longshoreman for many years and then worked as a carpenter at the Parkchester Houses in the Bronx.  Michael was past president of Section 17 in Clearbrook and he enjoyed working on cars in his spare time.  

Michael was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Marano, his grandson, Michael Elias, two brothers: Walter Marano and William Marano, his sister, Anita Pietri and his brother in law, Leo Pietri.    

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Anna Marano of Monroe Twp., his son, Michael Marano and his wife Catherine of Palm Coast, FL, his daughter, Angela Elias of Monroe Twp., his daughter in law, Angela Marano of Staten Island, his brother, Sabato Marano and his wife Patricia of Staten Island, three sisters: Marlene DeAngelis and Margaret Vassallo, both of Brooklyn and Maria Fleischmann and her husband Frederick of Staten Island, four grandchildren: Michael, Jessica, Nicole and Joseph and four great grandchildren: Naeem, Segal, Elliott and Joseph.  

Visitation will be 2-4pm & 7-9pm on Friday September 25, 2020 and 8:00-8:45am on Saturday September 26, 2020 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. - 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ  08831 - 732-521-0555.  Funeral services will begin at 8:45am on Saturday from the funeral home.  A funeral liturgy will be 9:30am at St. James the Less RC Church - 36 Lincoln Ave., Jamesburg, NJ  08831 followed by entombment in St. Gabriel's Mausoleum, Marlboro.
