Elaine Victoria Ricciardi, of Monroe Township NJ, died April 18, 2020 at Garden Terrace Nursing Home in Chatham, NJ.
She was born on September 13, 1935 on Staten Island, NY to Andrea and Marzia Ciardiello. Her three older sisters, Marie Cozzolino, Ann Di Niro, and Velia Natale predeceased her. The Ciardiello family home was on Brighton Ave. in the New Brighton section.
On February 20, 1955, she married her Curtis High School sweetheart and the love of her life, Charles A Ricciardi. Together they raised three sons in their home on Fort Hill Circle in the St. George section of Staten Island until moving to a retirement community in Monroe, NJ in 1997. Charles died in 2004 after operating his father’s company, J Ricciardi & Sons Trucking Co for over 50 years – a legacy carried on to this day by their son James. With other family, they also owned Angelina’s Restaurant in Port Richmond, SI, before Elaine took a book keeping position until her retirement.
Elaine enjoyed nothing more than to cook and fuss over her grandchildren and great grandchildren. And, in turn, they showered her with love and affection.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James and Victoria of Old Bridge, NJ; son, Robert of Staten Island, NY; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Karen of New Vernon, NJ; grandchildren, Angela, Robert, James, Christian, Ashley, Nicole, Gregory, Alison, and Valerie; and their families, which include 12 great grandchildren. Her dear daughter-in-law, Dorine predeceases her. Elaine is also survived by her brothers-in-law Frank Di Niro and Nino Natale, as well as sisters-in-law Gloria Riccardi and Gloria Ricciardi, with whom she had been close friends with for almost 80 years. She was a beloved aunt to 27 nieces and nephews.
Out of respect and concern for public health and safety, funeral services and entombment are to be held privately at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations to God’s Co-Op Food Pantry of the Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church in NJ are greatly appreciated by her family.
