Obituary of Michael A. Statkus

On April 4, 2020  Michael Statkus died peacefully at home.  Born in Newark, N.J., Michael was the son of the late Michael and Muriel Statkus, née Jacobson. 

Michael spent many years as a chemical operator for GAF in Linden N.J. and later Firmenich in Port Newark.  He was an active member of the Jamesburg Elks, Lodge 2180 for 35 years. Michael enjoyed fishing on the Atlantic Star, based in the Atlantic Highlands when he could. 

Michael was predeceased by his wife Karen.  He leaves behind three children, Joseph, Caitlin and Maryann, who will all miss him. In addition, he is survived by his sisters Chris, Pattie and Cindy, as well as his sister and brother in law Denise and Martin Kolibas. Michael was the proud uncle of many nieces and nephews. 

Out of respect and concern for public health and safety, funeral services are being held privately and are under the direction of the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. - 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ  08831.
