Obituary of Dorothy May Maino

Dorothy May (Howe) Maino, 84, of Monroe Twp. passed away on Tuesday March 17, 2020 at St. Peter's University Medical Center in New Brunswick.  Dorothy May was born and raised in Jersey City and settled in Monroe Twp. 20 years ago.  She was employed by the Jersey City Board of Education for 25 years and was a committee woman in Jersey City.  On July 12, 1950, Dorothy May won the title of the Miss Union Beach beauty contest.  Dorothy May loved her family and her most precious moments were spending time with her family, grandchildren and "doing things her way".   

Dorothy May was preceded in death by her brother, James Howe.

She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Michael Maino of Monroe Twp., four children: Mary Ann Socienski and her husband Alan of Lyndhurst, Dorothy Domke and her husband William of Monroe Twp., Michael Maino and his wife Cheryl of Point Pleasant Beach and Kenneth Maino and his wife Jacqueline of Monroe Twp.,  four grandchildren: William and Samantha Domke and Victoria and Courtney Maino, three siblings: Joseph Howe and his wife Lois of Mount Laurel, Kenneth Howe and his wife Carolyn of Ringwood and Mary Ann Kaleghi and her husband Edward of Edison.  Also surviving are many extended family members and friends.  

Services are private due to the Coronavirus and are being held under the direction of the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. - 732-521-0555 - www.demarcofuneralhome.com.  Due to this unprecedented time, the Maino family, with a heavy heart, request that our loved ones observe our mother's passing privately and send their condolences directly to the family.
