Obituary of Ann Armenti
Ann Armenti, age 82, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2020, with her loving family surrounding her in Myrtle Beach, SC where she had hoped to live out her remaining years with her daughter and family enjoying the sun, sand and palm trees. She has now joined her dear husband, Angelo, who passed away too soon in 2005.
Ann was born on May 14,1937, in the Ironbound Section of Newark, NJ; the youngest of seven children. She lost her mother to breast cancer when she was an infant. Having grown up without a mother, her dream was to marry and raise a family of her own. As a young woman she worked at Burry's Cookies and spent most weekends twirling on the dance floor doing what she loved most.
She married Angelo Armenti in 1957 and raised her sons and daughter in Port Reading, Sewaren and finally, Carteret, NJ; eventually retiring with her husband to Monroe Township. Besides her love of dancing, she was known for her delicious chicken soup, Manicotti, cream puffs and apple pie. Christmas dinner will never be the same without her!
After Angelo passed, Ann filled her days with newly formed friendships made at the Italian American club in Monroe, NJ. Those special ladies made her days full of laughter, and brought a "sisterhood" to her last years in NJ.
Ann is survived by her sisters and brother-in-law; Mary Crisofulli of Somerset and Michelina and Joe Petolino of Matawan, sons and daughters-in-law; Anthony and Michele Armenti of Sewell and Michael and Kelly Armenti of Flemington, daughter and son-in-law; Maria and John Theoret of Myrtle Beach, SC, six grandchildren; Michael, Christopher, Matthew, Arielle, Justin and Jenna, great granddaughter; Eleanor Grace, her many nephews and nieces and her many lady friends of Monroe.
A mass will be held at 9:30 am on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Nativity of Our Lord, 185 Applegarth Road, Monroe Township, NJ 08831. A burial will follow at 11:00 am at Holy Cross Burial Park, 840 Cranbury South River Road, Jamesburg, NJ 08831
