Obituary of Nancy J. Fernicola

Nancy J. (Somma) Fernicola died on Saturday December 14, 2019 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.  She was 94 years old.  Mrs. Fernicola was born and raised in Newark.  She lived most of her life in Hillside and has resided in Concordia, Monroe Twp. since 2003.  She was a homemaker and was a parishioner of Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, Monroe Twp.  She enjoyed baking and talking on the phone to friends and family.  Most of all she cherished the time spent with her family and grandchildren.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Joseph J. in 2014 and nine siblings.

She is survived by two sons, Mark Fernicola of Lauderdale Lakes, FL, and Gary Fernicola and his wife Linda of Monroe Twp., two grandchildren, Gary Fernicola, and Gabrielle Fernicola, and many other extended family members.

Visitation will be from 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Wednesday December 18, 2019 and from 8:15am to 8:45am on Thursday December 19, 2019 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc., 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831.  Funeral services will begin at 8:45am on Thursday from the funeral home.  A funeral liturgy will be 9:30am at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, 185 Applegarth Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 followed by Entombment in Hollywood Memorial Park, Union.
