Obituary of Jack R. De Filippo
Jack De Filippo died on Sunday, November 17, 2019, at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center in Plainsboro surrounded by his loving family. He was 85 years old.
Jack was born in 1934 on the lower east side of Manhattan. He was a patriotic man who proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. An avid Yankees fan, he loved watching and talking about anything sports-related. He also was a military history enthusiast who loved to teach his family and friends about U.S. history. Most of all, Jack was a devoted husband and family man who cherished time with his family, especially his granddaughters. He was the best husband, father and grandfather any family could have and will be missed more than words can convey.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Medele De Filippo of Clearbrook, Monroe Twp., daughter Jacqueline De Filippo and her husband Barry Greenberg and granddaughters Chelsea and Lindsey of Weston, CT, son Bobby De Filippo of Monroe Twp., brother Anthony De Filippo and his wife Shelly of Virginia, brother Joe De Filippo and his wife Ronnie of Staten Island, NY, sister-in-law Helene Lanzieri of Brick Twp., and many other extended family members.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, November 20, 2019, and from 8:45 am to 9:15 am on Thursday, November 21, 2019, at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. -- 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555, www.demarcofuneralhome.com. Funeral services will begin at 9:15 am on Thursday from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be 10:00 am at Queenship of Mary RC Church -- 16 Dey Rd. Plainsboro Twp., NJ 08536 followed by Interment in Van Liew Cemetery, North Brunswick, NJ.
