Shirley T. Oakes – Monroe Township, NJ

Shirley T. Oakes, 89, died on Wednesday August 28, 2019 at her residence at Greenbriar at Whittingham, Monroe Township, NJ.  Shirley was born, raised and resided in Staten Island, NY for most of her life, before moving to Columbus, NJ and most recently Monroe Township, NJ.  Shirley enjoyed spending time at the Great Kills Swim Club, traveling and most importantly being with her family, that she cherished so greatly.  

Shirley is preceded in death by her loving husband, William F. Oakes (2012).

Shirley is survived by her three children; William Oakes and his wife Susan of Gilroy, CA., Shirley Kadin and her husband Andrew of Spring, TX., and Mary Gran and her husband Phil of Monroe Township, NJ., eight grandchildren; Claire Hanada and her husband Dereck, Laura Oakes, Janine Sears and her husband Anthony, Michelle Kadin, Peter Kadin and his wife Tiffany, Brendan Gran, Allison Nadeau and her husband Michael, and Timothy Gran, five great grandchildren; Colten and Gemma Hanada, Brianne and Audrey Sears and Ryan Nadeau and many nieces and nephews.   

Visitation will be from 4-8pm on Monday September 2, 2019 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc., 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, (732)-521-0555.  Funeral services will begin at 9:30am on Tuesday September 3, 2019 from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be 10:15am on Tuesday at Immaculate Conception RC Church, Spotswood, NJ.  A private cremation will follow the funeral liturgy.
