Obituary of Thomas Nicholas Campiglia

Please share a memory of Thomas to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Thomas N. Campiglia passed away on Saturday June 8, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.  Tom was born in Columbus, OH, and moved to Connecticut at an early age where he was raised by his parents, Edward and Peg, with his twin brother, John, and older sister, Ann.  A true city aficionado, he lived in San Francisco and New York City before moving to Stonebridge, Monroe Twp. 4 years ago.

Tom started engineering school only to realize he actually hated engineering, even though his teachers encouraged him to become an engineer. He always dreamt of being an artist so after receiving his Associate’s degree at Wentworth, he went on to Pratt Institute of Technology to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.  He was a sole practitioner of architecture for most of his career before settling at Gensler as a Senior Project Manager in 2016.

He loved music, fly fishing, skiing and being outdoors.  He was an architect by trade but Tom had a deep love and appreciation for art.  He was an artist himself and his beautiful art will live in his family's homes forever.  Tom was an established member of the American Institute of Architecture and a Fellow of the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation.  Above all, he was a beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather.  Despite having received a terminal diagnosis in 2017, he lived each day with hope, optimism and a zest for life.  He touched so many people in his illustrious life and will truly be missed.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Linda Samuels-Campiglia of Monroe Twp., two daughters: Paulina Campiglia Caruso and her husband Eric of Glen Cove, NY and Jennifer Keller and her husband David of Winston Salem, NC, his brother, John Camp of Potomac, MD, his sister, Ann Schick and her husband Chuck of Arvada, CO and two grandchildren: Charlotte and William.  Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends and his beloved Labrador retriever, Chloe, who was the love of his life and never left his side.

A private cremation was held under the direction of the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. - 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ  08831 - 732-521-0555.

The family is hosting a memorial service on Saturday, June 22nd at Redeemer West Side, 150 West 83rd St. in NYC starting at 9:15am to celebrate and honor his wonderful life and legacy.
