Obituary of Minerva Martuscelli-Kasnetz

Minerva Martuscelli-Kasnetz – Monroe Township, NJ

Minerva Martuscelli-Kasnetz, 84, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at her residence in Monroe Township, NJ.  Minerva was born in New York, New York; she resided in Elmont, NY, and East Brunswick, NJ, before moving to Monroe Township twenty years ago. 

Minerva loved art, music and dance, her passion for which she shared with her children.  She worked in the Head Start Program for the New York school system and in the evenings as a night manager for a New York retail store.  Several years later, Minerva became a full-time day manager traveling across the United States hiring, training and placing personnel.  After several years, Minerva obtained her real estate license and worked at Rutgers University as an Administrative Assistant, where she remained until she retired.  When she retired, she performed in several tap shows in her retirement community, and thoroughly enjoyed illustrating several children’s books.  Minerva was a member of the Monroe Township Senior Chorus; she enjoyed painting, cherished her dog Precious and was a parishioner of St. James the Less RC Church.   

Minerva is preceded in death by her first husband, Salvatore Louis Martuscelli, her second husband, Bernard Yale Kasnetz, brother, William Garzone and sister, Helen Travis. 

Minerva is survived by her children; Liza Grillo and her husband Roger of North Brunswick, NJ, Gina Herring and her husband Gary of Old Tappan, NJ, Mia Martuscelli and her husband Kevin Kostes of Bridgewater, NJ, Karen Kasnetz and her husband Joe Weinstein of Bridgewater, NJ, Paul Kasnetz of Short Hills, NJ, Matthew Kasnetz of New Hampshire, grandchildren; Jessica, Daine, Cole, Jonathan, David, Jordan, Joel, Arielle and Isabel.  Also surviving are extended family members and friends. 

Visitation will be 12-3pm on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. - 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ  08831.  Funeral services will begin at 9:15am on Monday, June 10, 2019 from the funeral home.  A funeral liturgy will be 10am on Monday at St. James the Less RC Church, 36 Lincoln Ave, Jamesburg, followed by entombment at Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum – East Brunswick.

In lieu of flowers and for those who desire, memorial donations in Minerva’s name can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
