Mr. Saverio J. "Sam" Aliberti died on Sunday October 2, 2011 at the NJ Veterans Memorial Home in Edison. He was 92 years old. Mr. Aliberti was born in Merrick, LI, NY, and later lived in Canarsie, LI, NY for many years before moving to Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. He returned to Canarsie before finally moving to Clearbrook, Monroe Twp., in 1990. He was an engineer for the VA Hospital in Brooklyn for many years bofore his retirement in 1984. He served in the US Army during WWII. He was a parishioner of Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, Monroe Twp.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Marion (Troy) Aliberti of Clearbrook, Monroe Twp., one step-son, James DeStefano of Jamesburg, three brothers, John Aliberti of LI, NY, Joseph Aliberti and his wife Gemma of North Babylon, NY, and Benny Aliberti and his wife Rosie of Staten Island, NY, one sister-in-law, Audrey of Long Eddy, NY, two step-grandsons, Jimmy & Steven, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will begin at 10:15am on Wednesday October 5, 2011 from the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. A funeral liturgy will be 11:00am at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, Monroe Twp., followed by Entombment in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, S. Brunswick. Visitation will be from 9:00am to 10:15am on Wednesday morning at the funeral home.
