Joseph F. Lenard died on Friday August 5, 2011 in Monroe Twp. He was 93 years old. Mr. Lenard was born and raised in Monroe Twp. and has resided there his entire life. He served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII as a 'Flying Tiger.' He was a member of the 374th Squadron, 308th Bomb Group and was a gunner who sent supplies over to India and China. He was a member of VFW Post 4589, Spotswood. Formerly, he was employed by Bristol-Myers Squibb in New Brunswick. Joe dedicated his life to his family and homestead. He loved farming and spent many happy years with his family members, sharing stories of his past war days. He was pre-deceased by his wife Anna V. (Alexander) Lenard in 1992. He is survived by two sisters, Helen Stofko of Monroe Twp., and Caroline Kulpa of Monroe Twp., and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will begin at 9:30am on Saturday August 13, 2011 from the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. A funeral liturgy will be 10:00am at Holy Trinity RC Church, Helmetta. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. The family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday morning from 8:30-9:30am at the funeral home.
