Mr. Joseph A. Ladny died Sunday June 26th at home. He was 92 year sold. Born in Bayonne, he lived there all of his life, moving to Clearbrook in Monroe Twp. in 2006. He was a 1936 graduate of Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey, NJ. Mr. Ladny served over 25 years with the Bayonne Police Department, retiring in 1982 with the rank of Lieutenant. Previously he served in WW 2 with the 1st Cavalry Division, US Army in the Asiatic-Pacific theatres.
His wife of 62 years, Anna (Rutkowski) Ladny died in 2009, and he was also predeceased by a son, Kenneth (2005), a daughter, Joanne Amato (2005) and two brothers, Alexander and Edward. Surviving are a sister, Lottie Gannon of Bayonne, six grandchildren, Adrienne, Jessica, Gregory, Timothy, Mallory and Cameron, five great grandchildren, a daughter in law, Dawn Ladny of Fisco, TX and a son in law, Anthony Amato of Clearbrook, Monroe Twp.
Funeral services will begin at 8:45am Thursday from the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 9:30am at Nativity of Our Lord RCC, Monroe Twp. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visitation is Wednesday evening only, 7-9pm.
