Obituary of Sharon D Furey

Mrs. Sharon D. (Kohlhepp) Furey died Friday May 13th at home. She was 60 years old. Born in South Amboy, she was raised in Spotswood and graduated from South River HS. Before her marriage, she was the personal assistant to the guest coordinator for the Johnny Carson Show on NBC in NYC for several years. Later she enjoyed being a full time mom and homemaker, as well as being a bookkeeper for her husband's local accounting firm. Finally, she was the co-owner and operator with her husband of Ed's Liquor Store in Monroe Township for nine years, retiring in 2008.She truly enjoyed outdoor activities including going to the Jersey Shore and her Florida home, and gardening. She was accopmlished at needlepoint and several other hand crafts. She was a member of the Reformed Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of Post 4589 VFW, both in Spotswood.
Her brother Walter died in 1958. Surviving are her husband of 38 years, Michael B., a son, Michael C. (Jessica) of Spotswood, two daughters, Nicole S. Mendoker (Edward) of Monroe Twp. and Victoria S. Hefnawy (Mohamed) of Forks Twp., PA, a brother, Charles H. Kohlhepp of Wellington, FL, a sister, Nancy Huston of Jamesburg, four loving grandchildren, Alexa, Edward, Timothy and Michael D. and several other loving family members.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11:00am at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park
