Obituary of Ralph Zizza

Ralph Zizza died on Friday, May 13, 2011 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was 69 years old. Mr. Zizza was born and raised in Newark. He lived in Monroe Township for 35 years before moving to Helmetta in 2004. He served in the US Navy. He was a mechanical engineer for Silgan Containers in Edison for 45 years before his retirement in 2006. He enjoyed gardening, sports, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Rosemary (Velardi) Zizza of Helmetta, three daughters, Lisa Ball-Taft of Helmetta, Renee Weikel and her husband Bryan of Monroe Twp., and Jennifer Taddei and her husband Ned of Weehawken, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Nicholas Velardi and Geraldine (Iacangelo) Velardi of Manchester Twp., three sisters, Nellie Castelluccio of Parlin, Sandra Nalepka and her husband Ralph of Manville, and Joann Kube of Jackson, three granddaughters, and five grandsons. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 from the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. A funeral liturgy will be 10:30 am at St. James the Less RC Church, Jamesburg followed by Cremation at Holy Cross Burial Park Crematory, S. Brunswick. Visitation is Monday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
