Mr. Jose P. Ramos, loving husband, father, and son, passed away after fighting a long illness on Thursday March 31, 2011 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He was 69 years old. After living in Old Bridge for 36 years, Jose lived in Monroe Twp. for the past 8 years. Jose was born on April 29, 1941 in Havana, Cuba and has lived in the United States since 1961. He graduated from Georgetown University and worked as a sales rep for Kraft Foods, Home-Like Foods, and Magnolia Beef. Jose was a member of the Elizabeth Cubano Lions Club for 37 years and formerly served as president of the club. He was an avid baseball fan and loved the St. Louis Cardinals. Jose will be missed greatly by his many friends and his loving family for his sense of humor and loyalty. He was a communicant of Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, Monroe Twp. He was predeceased by his father, Jose Ramos, his mother, Margarita (Asso) Ramos, his father-in-law, Ramon Menendez, his mother-in-law, Amparo (Hernandez), and his grandson, Joseph Christian McGraw. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Blanca (Menendez) Ramos of Clearbrook, Monroe Twp., two daughters, Suzanne Orenga and her husband John of State College, PA, and Marta McGraw and her husband Louis of Jackson, his son, Javier Ramos of Old Bridge, seven loving grandchildren, Tony, Michael, Kristin, Eric, Megan, Morgan, and Daniel, his sister, Mercedes Correa of Somerset, two nephews, Juan, and Carlos, and many cousins. Funeral services began on Monday April 4, 2011 from the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at 9:30am at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, Monroe Twp. Cremation was private. Visitation was Sunday, April 4th from 2-6pm at the funeral home.
