Teresa (Terry) Artz Beloved Mother and Grandmother, formerly of Bayonne, 85 Teresa (Terry) Artz (nee Gers), 85, of Spotswood, NJ, surrounded by her loving family, passed away peacefully on Wednesday Oct. 3, 2018. She was a recent Colon Cancer Survivor in June of 2018. To all Teresa was known as a kind, caring and sweet lady. She had a heart of gold! Born in Bayonne, NJ, residing there for much of her life, Terry was an Assistant Business Office Manager at the Bayonne Hospital for 25 years before retiring and relocating to Spotswood, for the last 22 years, to be closer to family. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bayonne, NJ prior to relocating to Spotswood where she was a Communicant at Immaculate Conception RC Church. Proud of her Polish heritage and Catholic faith, she also loved her “chocolate, music, theatre and was an avid New York Yankee fan.” The beloved wife of the late Gerard Joseph Artz, Terry was the devoted mother of Gerard (Jerry) and his wife, Kimberly; daughter, Debora (Debbie) and Walter Fahey; son, Derek Sean and his wife Teresa Ann. She was the cherished grandmother to Jason, Alison, Amelia, Meredith, Julia and Gabriel; loving sister of Helen Staregowski of Ocala, FL; dear Godmother to Robert Bobinski, Michael Gers and Alison Fahey. Also surviving is her special first cousin who she was very close to, Adele Gull of Bayonne. Terry was also predeceased by her parents, Marcela and Edward Gers of Poland; brother, Michael; sisters Irene Bobinski, and Dorothy Nadrowski. Visitation will be Sunday October 7th, 2018 from 2-6 pm at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc., 205 Rhode Hall Road, Monroe Twp, NJ 08831. (732) 521- 0555. On Monday, October 8, 2018 a funeral liturgy will be at 12:00pm at Immaculate Conception RC Church, 18 South St., in Spotswood with all welcome to gather at the funeral home beginning at 11:15 am. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, South Brunswick. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Teresa’s memory to the American Lung Association.
