Virginia May Wilmer (Ginny), 74, entered into eternal rest on Saturday September 15, 2018 at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center in Plainsboro. Ginny was born January 26, 1944 at West Point Military Academy, NY where her father was stationed. Her elementary education was in Fostertown and Newburg, NY before moving to Lexington, KY and then settling in Cranbury, NJ in 1959 where she graduated from Hightstown High School in 1961. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Hightstown for over 50 years. She was Past President, “Lady of the Year” and active member of the B.P.O. Elks Ladies Auxiliary in Jamesburg, NJ for 35 years. She chaired many functions and later continuously worked to raise money for the Lodge and the Special Children’s Committee. She worked for many years at AT&T in Hamilton, NJ as a Communications Assistant for the Hearing Impaired. Ginny was an avid reader who also enjoyed camping and playing cards.
She was preceded in death by her parents, MaryElodee Dohrmann and William F. Dohrmann, Sr. and brother, William “Bill” Dohrmann, Jr.
She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Robert ‘Bob’ Wilmer. Together, they raised 3 sons: Bernard Eugene Wilmer (Francine Pasch) of Hightstown, NJ, William Peter Frederick Wilmer (Deborah Patterson Wilmer) of Westampton, NJ and Nicholas Benjamin Wilmer (Jessica Albright) of Cicero, IN. Also surviving are the joys of her life, her grandchildren: Blake, Bryan, Nicholas, Jake, Alexandra, Andrew, Jackson and Max Wilmer, sister, Mary ‘Elodee’ Dohrmann Hughes (Edward Hughes) of Bluffton, SC and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be 4-8 pm on Wednesday September 19, 2018 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home - 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 - 732-521-0555 - www.demarcofuneralhome.com. A Catholic Blessing will be 10:30 am on Thursday September 20, 2018 at the funeral home followed by interment in Cedar Hill Cemetery - 385 Mercer St., Hightstown, NJ 08520.
