Obituary of Michael V. Petronio

Michael V. Petronio passed away on Wednesday August 22, 2018 at Penn Medicine Princeton Health in Plainsboro. He was 89 years old. Mr. Petronio was born and raised in Brooklyn and lived most of his life there before moving to Greenbriar @ Whittingham in Monroe Twp. in 2001. He served in the US National Guard for several years and owned and operated his own Industrial Supply Company, Arco Industrial Supply Corp. based out of Brooklyn. The business was operable for 48 years before closing in 2016. One of his life dreams was to become a pilot and that dream was fulfilled when he earned his pilot’s license at the age of 65. He thoroughly enjoyed flying his personal aircraft for countless hours over the years. In his earlier years, he played the saxophone and clarinet and was member of several local bands. He will be remembered fondly as an honest, hardworking, family man. He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Helen Petronio, and his son, Michael Petronio in 2016. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marie (DelMasto) Petronio of Greenbriar @ Whittingham, Monroe Twp., two daughters, Lorraine Slivenski and her husband Wayne of Cherry Hill, and Lynne Petronio of Manalapan, his daughter-in-law, Katherine Petronio of Brooklyn, NY, seven grandchildren, John Barra, Lisa Barra, Danielle Gilbert and her husband Brian, Gregory Katsimagles, Christopher Katsimagles, Tina Petronio, and Michael Petronio, three great grandchildren, Jack, Lila, and Annabel, and many other extended family members. Cremation is Private. Visitation will be from 1-3pm on Saturday August 25, 2018 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, 205 Rhode Hall Road, Monroe Twp., NJ 08831. A memorial service will begin at the conclusion of the visitation hours at 3pm at the funeral home.
