Stephen P. Molnar - Monroe Township, NJ
Stephen P. Molnar, 91, died on Sunday August 19, 2018 at The Elms of Cranbury, Cranbury, NJ. Stephen was born and raised in New Brunswick, NJ; he resided in Piscataway, NJ for forty four years before moving to The Ponds, Monroe Township, NJ in 1995.
Stephen proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was a crane operator for Irvington Steel and Iron Works in New Brunswick, NJ, retiring in 1978. Stephen was a Fourth Degree Knight - South Plainfield Knights of Columbus #6336 and was a former member of Dunellen Council #2544, where he served as Grand Knight.
Stephen was an active volunteer fireman, he joined New Market Volunteer Fire Company, Piscataway in 1965 and later, Applegarth Volunteer Fire Company, where he was a two term president and a Chaplin for fourteen years. He volunteered at St. Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick for nine years, was a former member of Our Lady of Fatima, Piscataway, where he was a member of the Holy Name Society and has since been a parishioner of Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, where he served as an usher and a Eucharistic Minister.
Stephen is preceded in death by his wife Marie Delores Molnar (2015).
Stephen is survived by his two daughters; Barbara Suchorsky and her husband George, Jr of Allentown, NJ and Charlene Atkinson and her husband Shawn of East Windsor, NJ and his three grandchildren; Christopher Suchorsky and his wife Jenny, Lori Mongon and her husband Edward, Michael A. Liland, Jr. and his wife Katie and three great grandchildren; Nicholas Mongon, Sophia Mongon and Joseph Suchorsky.
Visitation will be from 2-4 & 6-8pm on Thursday August 23, 2018 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, 205 Rhode Hall Road, Monroe Twp., NJ 08831. Funeral services will begin at 10:15am on Friday August 24, 2018 from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be 11am at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, 185 Applegarth Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 followed by Entombment in Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum Piscataway.
