Obituary of Anne Romano

Anne (Fusco) Romano passed away on Saturday August 18, 2018 at Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore, PA. She was 100 years old. Mrs. Romano was born and raised in New York City. She lived in Brooklyn for 64 years before moving to Rossmoor, Monroe Twp. in 1984. She has resided in Clarks Summit at the home of her daughter since 2015. She was a homemaker and also owned and operated Mayflower Drug Co. in Brooklyn along with her late husband, Anthony. She was a volunteer for numerous charitable causes including Xaverian High School, Victory Memorial Hospital and others in Brooklyn. While living in the Rossmoor community, she was very active in the Italian American Club. She was a parishioner of Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, Monroe Twp.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, Anthony W. in 2002, one brother, John Fusco, four sisters, Susan Valenti, Mildred Fulco, Eleanor Faillace, and Lucy Grassi, and one grandson, Nicholas Joseph Romano.
She is survived by two children, Dr. Joseph A. Romano and his wife Linda of Wall Twp., and Judith Ann Rienzi and her husband Dr. Joseph P. of Clarks Summit, PA, three grandchildren, Christine Dianne Romano and her husband Dr. David Knickerbocker of New York City, Nicole Antonia Rienzi of Philadelphia, PA, and Joseph Jude Rienzi of Atlanta, GA, and many other extended family members.
Visitation will be from 4-8pm on Tuesday August 21, 2018 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, 205 Rhode Hall Road, Monroe Twp., NJ 08831. Funeral services will begin at 8:45am on Wednesday August 22, 2018 from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be 9:30am at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, 185 Applegarth Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 followed by Entombment in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, South Brunswick.
