Philip R. Lynch, 93 of Monroe Township, passed away on Friday, July 20, 2018 at the Cranbury Center. Philip (better known as Dick) was born in Brooklyn, New York and resided in Flatbush, New York, Youngstown, Ohio, West Hartford, Connecticut, and Manhasset, New York before settling in Monroe Township, New Jersey where he resided for the past 28 years.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp and attended New York University. He retired after 40 years with Union Carbide in New York as a Sales Manager in the Consumer Products Division. Dick was an amazing husband and father, an avid golfer and tennis player, and was the President of the Forsgate Home Owners Association for many years. He was known for his great sense of humor, impeccable dress, and moves on the dance floor. Dick’s children affectionately referred to their parents as “Fred and Ginger.”
Dick was the son of the late Philip and Elizabeth (Corr) Lynch, and brother of the late Jane McDermott.
Dick is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Marian (Doyle) Lynch; his son, Philip Richard Lynch and wife Mei of Los Angeles, California; his daughters, Patricia Leonard and husband Michael of Austin, Texas, Kathleen Lynch and husband Leo Gustafson of Danbury, Connecticut, Susan Shaeffer and husband Alan of Bethesda, Maryland, Ellen Beekman and husband Harry of The Woodlands, Texas, Peggy Cobb and husband Douglas of Ramsey, New Jersey, and Pam Connolly of Culver City, California. He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren with one more on the way.
A Wake will be held on Sunday, July 29, 2018 from 2pm to 4pm and from 7pm to 9pm at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, 205 Rhode Hall Road, Monroe Township, NJ 08831.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30am on Monday, July 30, 2018 at St. James the Less Roman Catholic Church, 36 Lincoln Avenue, Jamesburg, NJ 08831.
