James E. D’Adamo, 54, of Monroe Twp. passed away on Thursday July 12, 2018 at New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. James was born and raised in Brooklyn and moved to Staten Island as a teenager where he lived until he moved to Monroe Twp. 15 years ago. He was a devoted husband and loving father. James was a genius in the kitchen and no one could make sauce like him. He was a diehard Jets fan and also loved the Rangers and the Mets. He was an avid sports memorabilia and watch collector. He loved collecting mountain bikes and riding them. James had a beautiful voice and grew up playing clubs as lead singer of his bands. His favorite band was Metallica and he spent a large part of his life singing their songs. James had a radiant smile and a contagious laugh. His favorite pastime was sitting on the couch in his Minion pajamas with his wife and children and watching movies and old TV series such as the Andy Griffith Show, The Brady Bunch, and Batman. On July 12, the world lost a hero and heaven gained an Angel. James was preceded in death by his father, James P. D’Adamo. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Jenny (Roca) D’Adamo, his daughter, Sophia Bella D’Adamo, his son, Julien James D’Adamo, all of Monroe Twp., his mother, Josephine D’Adamo of Chester, NY his brother, Frank D’Adamo and his wife Madelyn of Cream Ridge, NJ, his sister, Dawn Vanderstar and her husband John of Chester, NY, his grandmother, Frances Candido of Long Island, his mother in law, Blanca Lydia Roca of New York, NY and his sister in law, Mabel Roca Jurewicz and her husband Tom of Basking Ridge, NJ. Also surviving are his many nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Visitation will be 2-5pm on Sunday July 15, 2018 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. - 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 - 732-521-0555. Funeral services will begin at 9:15am on Monday July 16, 2018 from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be 10am at St. James the Less RC Church - 36 Lincoln Ave., Jamesburg, NJ 08831 followed by interment in Holy Cross Burial Park - South Brunswick. For those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society - www.lls.org.
