Obituary of Marie Graham

Marie (Merrifield) Graham passed away on Monday May 21, 2018 at her home in The Ponds, Monroe Twp. She was 87 years old. Mrs. Graham was born and raised in Brooklyn. She lived most of her life in the Sheepshead Bay section of Brooklyn and has resided in The Ponds, Monroe Twp. since 2011. She worked for three different parishes in Brooklyn as the Director of Religious Instruction. First, at the Church of Sts. Simon and Jude, next at St. Edmund’s RC Church, and finally at St. Therese of Lisieux RC Church. She also formerly taught Religious Education at St. Mark’s RC Church where she was a parishioner and active member for many years. She volunteered her time at Sunrise Assisted Living Residence in Brooklyn and enjoyed different activities within The Ponds community. She was a current parishioner of Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, Monroe Twp. Marie cherished the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, James in 1994 and her brother, Robert Merrifield.
She is survived by six sons, James Graham and his wife Naomi of Manchester, NH, Robert Graham and his wife Mary of Melbourne, FL, Patrick Graham and his wife Debra of Belmar, NJ, Christopher Graham and his wife Marylou of Sarasota, FL, John Graham and his wife Bonnie of Naples, FL, and Kevin Graham and his wife Raquel of Furlong, PA, her brother, George Merrifield and his wife June of Barnegat, 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and many other extended family members.
Visitation will be from 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Tuesday May 29, 2018 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home - 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 - 732-521-0555. Funeral services will begin at 8:45am on Wednesday May 30, 2018 from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be 9:30am at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, Monroe Twp. followed by Interment in Calverton National Memorial Cemetery, Calverton, NY.
